As you already know, Pessl Instruments started a CHAT project in the last quarter of the year 2018. Together with DunavNET and Zivko Sekulic Farm we are focusing on how can we improve the chicken breeding process. Last week our colleague Manu Arano Martinez visited the farm and installed the iMETOS devices. They will gather information with help of which we are hoping to improve and assure the animal well-being, in this case, chickens.

We are happy to announce that our product iMETOS CropVIEW has been awarded with Gold Medal from Fieragricola 2018 Innovation Award!
iMETOS CropVIEW is an agricultural information system that periodically takes high resolution photos of the farmland. Photos are automatically uploaded to the FieldClimate platform without the need of user intervention and allow continuous crop monitoring and yield control – from seed germination monitoring and the effect of fertilizers and pesticides on crop development to pest control. High resolution images can be analysed over time in relation to environmental data, which adds a new dimension to understanding what is happening in your field.

[September 18, 2017, Traiskirchen] Geoprospectors initiated an exclusive Topsoil Mapper sales partnership with the Austrian company Pessl Instruments GmbH for Australia and New Zealand
Since Agritechnica 2015, where both Pessl Instruments and Geoprospectors were awarded a silver medal for innovation, there has been a regular exchange of ideas between the companies. Pessl Instruments is one of the most innovative and internationally established suppliers of agricultural electronics with a focus on network sensor technology and Internet of Things. The geophysical sensor know-how of Geo prospectors complements very well the moisture, weather and nutrient sensors from Pessl Instruments. In addition to sensor technology, Pessl is also a specialist for the integration and autonomous power supply of these systems.
A new joint venture of Pessl Instruments in Australia was now the occasion for the intensification of the collaboration. With the Topsoil Mapper, Pessl Instruments now offers in Australia and New Zealand a product bundle for agricultural service providers that enables the automation of smart farming practices. This partnership gives Geoprospectors also the opportunity to increase the level of connectivity of the Topsoil Mapper with other sensor systems and machines.
If this sales model proves to be successful, an expansion to other regions in Africa or South America is conceivable.
Geoprospectors develops and assembles robust and motorized measuring systems for the detailed investigation and evaluation of various soil structures. The Geoprospectors systems are developed and optimized specifically for the agricultural application. They are non- invasive, easy to install and do smoothly integrate with all farming operations. Data management is simple and data interpretation highly automated.
The Topsoil Mapper (TSM) is the first motorized survey system for large area investigation of the soil parameters soil compaction, soil type and relative water saturation. The product also facilitates variable machine control in real time.

The Philippines has been tagged as the 13th most climate-vulnerable out of 186 countries. To help local farmers deal with the effects of climate change, technology will play a key role in promoting resilience in the agriculture sector.
We are proud to announce that Pessl Instruments will be a partner in the ImPACT (Improving Productivity in Agriculture through Climate-Smart Technology) project in the Phillipines. By introducing the METOS system to smallholder rice farmers, we hope to lay the groundwork towards an overall improvement in food security in the Phillipines.
Farming has become more challenging than one can imagine. A constantly increasing need to sustainably boost productivity, to adapt to the ever-changing weather conditions, to optimize soil and water management, while at the same time managing to keep up with market demands sounds almost like a mission impossible. But we have proof that it is not so.
First things first! We are happy to say that the presentation of Yara-Pessl Instruments joint solution for plant water management at the NewAG Berlin Conference was a success. Thank you, everybody who took time to visit us at the booth!

What is 3 years for nature? Close to nothing.
And for a farmer? Three springs of hard work. Three summers of hoping for rain to come or go away. Three harvests. Three winters of thinking about the next season. How to grow more and better. How to lower expenses and prevent crop loss. How to sleep lighter.
Making world a better place. Achieving better future. Ending extreme poverty. Fighting inequality and injustice. Protecting our planet. Defining the world we want – together.
